Prysmian takes the lead at International Wire and Cable Symposium
(IWCS)
Prysmian Cables & Systems - leading worldwide player in the energy and
telecommunications cable market - will play a major role next week at the
59th International Wire and Cable Symposium (IWCS) being held in Providence, Rhode
Island, USA. The IWCS brings together the world's leading producers and users of cable in order to
present and discuss the latest technological innovations and developments in the industry.
This year
Prysmian will present four technical papers covering a wide range of subjects
including – Installation of optical mini-cables and the factors that influence installation
performance – Power and optical hybrid cables – Optical earth cable for underground use in wind
farms – Evaluation of the impulsive and continuity components on OPGW cables under lightning
conditions. There will also be a paper in the poster session concerning control of capacitance on
Copper Steel drop cables in high frequency signal transmission.
Prysmian is pleased to support IWCS as a partner sponsor of this event which will run
from November 7th to 10th at the Rhode Island Convention Center.
