th, 2010 - Prysmian together with nine other major players in the energy sector - 3E,
Areva T&D, DEME Blue Energy, Elia, Hochtief Construction AG, Mainstream Renewable Power,
Parsons Brinckerhoff, Siemens and Visser & Smit Marine Contracting - will launch the new
"Friends of the Supergrid" (FOSG) organization.
The organization is aimed at promoting and supporting the development of large–scale direct

cables is progressing (challenges, solutions, R&D).
Prysmian is involved

Transbay and Neptune in the USA,
COMETA in Spain,
Doha Bay in Qatar and
Basslink in Australia. In Italy the company has been awarded a contract to develop

entire national power grid, by
Terna Spa Rete Elettrica Nazionale.
Prysmian is active in the field of renewable energies by supplying cable systems to the wind
and solar industries, paying growing attention to the evolution ongoing towards the use of
sustainable resources.
In the latest years, just to mention a few, the Group has supplied high-tech power cables for
the Greater Gabbard project in the UK, the world’ s largest offshore wind farm.
Through Prysmian Powerlink, the Group is now active part of “Friends of the Supergrid” and
ready to face the greater efforts required for years to come, keeping in mind that a sustainable
business affects the overall economic performance both at local and global level.
