Key projects

No fear of Heights
Taking safety and elevator travelling to new heights, we have installed fire performance and elevator cables in the Burj Khalifa, the tallest man-made structure in the world. The skyscraper counts 162 floors rising 828 metres above the Dubai business district. In a building so high, safety is crucial and our fire performance cables play a significant part in ensuring the highest possible safety. The length of cable installed is over 1,300 times the height of the tower and it is filled with over 700,000 fire resistant accessories. For travelling in the building, we have provided specially engineered elevator cables. At 18 meters per second (65 km/h or 40 mph) the elevators are among the world’s fastest.
Connecting huge infrastructures

Connecting huge infrastructures Connecting huge infrastructures
Connecting two electricity grid stations in Abu Dhabi, we play an important role in developing the Emirate’s power transmission system. In this key project, we will be responsible for realizing an EHV-system requiring more than 230 km in cable, enabling power for the new F1 race track and the new Abu Dhabi Cultural District that will also host the Louvre and Guggenheim museums.

Cables under the water line
In a record-breaking project, we laid the world’s deepest and longest submarine power link as a single supplier. Connecting the electricity grids of Sardinia and the Italian mainland are 860 kilometres of submarine cable, installed at a maximum depth of 1,630 metres.

Australia Telecom Creating history downunder
Our wide range of ribbon and multi-fibre communication cables are helping the Australia Government fulfill its vision of creating a Fibre to the Premise network that will connect 93% of Australia’s residential and business premises with fibre. With solutions including termite resistant, rodent-proof and high strength cables we play an integral part in the largest national building infrastructure project in Australia’s history.

Euro 2012 on Air
Thanks to 200 kilometers of our cables, football fans all over the world will be able to enjoy televised matches from Ukraine’s Donbass Arena in high definition and 3D television. The 50,000 seat stadium is one of four stadiums in Ukraine which along with stadiums in Poland will host the 2012 Football Championship.

Renewable Energy for 340,000 homes Focus on a more sustainable business
We are continuously strengthening our world leadership in cables for offshore wind farms. The Group has been involved in the major projects already developed or under development, like the SylWin1 project in Germany which marks a series of milestones in this industry sector, reaching 864 MW of power rating and 320 kV Direct Current voltage. We’ll make it possible to bring renewable energy to thousand homes, helping create a greener planet for future generations.

In Space
By measuring the thickness of ice over land and water, satellites rigged with our customized wires and cables are able to show nearly half the planet and provide detailed views of specific locations and climate change trends. We are involved in space projects as a preferred parts manufacturer for the European Space Agency.
