A strategic technical cooperation with Petrobras introduced Prysmian to flexible pipes for oil drilling, which, along with its existing production of umbilical cables for offshore platforms, provides a total range of SURF (Subsea Umbilical, Riser and Flowline) products and services for the petrochemicals industry. From Brazil to the Gulf of Mexico, the Caspian Sea to the Arabian Gulf, and from the North Sea to South-East Asia, Prysmian cables and systems lie at the heart of the Oil & Gas industry's major international developments.

In transport, Prysmian has cabled the world's biggest ships, like Royal Caribbean's GENESIS fleet, and fastest trains, including the Alstom-designed TGV. In the construction industry, Prysmian's fire-resistant cables are found at the heart of many state-of-the-art developments, like the Wimbledon tennis stadium, the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the world's tallest building, and Masdar City in the Arab Emirates, the world's first carbon-neutral city.

In telecom cables the company carries out the most advanced Fibre To The Home projects for world leaders like Verizon in the USA and helps major operators in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Latin America with their network upgrades.
