Taking FTTH to the customer
Prysmian Telecom finished its major European FTTH tour
The FTTH European Roadshow finished its tour in mid-November, being Spain and Andorra
the last Countries to be visited by Prysmian's trailer.
This has confirmed itself as a
successful and worthwhile project.
The Roadshow started in UK on September 6th and visited a total of 15 countries up until the
last working day of November 9th. In this time the trailer covered approximately
13,000 kms in its journey through UK, Holland, Denmark, Norway, Sweden, Germany,
Czech Republic, Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Austria, Slovenia, Italy, Spain and Andorra.
During these 10 weeks we completed 30 Roadshow customer days.
The targets which we set ourselves - in terms of locations and timescales - were very
challenging and the fact that we completed almost the entire programme without any major problems
was largely down to the careful planning and preparation undertaken by everyone involved.
A total of
1178 customers visited the trailer, representing
317 organizations (mainly Incumbents, Alternative Operators, Utilities,
Installers, Distributors, Municipalities, etc). In terms
of Product Interest the VertiCasa system, Sirocco Blown Fibre and Connectivity
have been the most attractive products, but also Fibre, Zephyr minicables, Quickdr@w and Rapier had
a great success among the Roadshow visitors. Everyone is now following up the numerous actions and
opportunities which the Roadshow has created and we are confident that the project has helped to
inject some further momentum into this rapidly growing sector of the Telecom business.
