Carbon Trust was founded in the UK in 2001 to help companies in theirmove to a low-carbon economy by providing a framework to measure, manage and reduce emissions. According to a study fromDeloitte called “Climate Check: Business’ViewsonSustainability,”theboardisresponsible for setting sustainability goals and driving accountability to meet them at 40% of companies, and the CEO at 43%. We do a lot together with our R&D department and our business organizations. We are very, very keen on these projects, and so are our customers.” Andrea Pirondini Chief Operating Officer “Our Sustainability Committee is made up of members with direct business management experience, with the Chief Operating Officer as secretary. Having the COO as secretary sets the tone at the top! I have not seen a set up like ours elsewhere in the marketplace.” Monica de Virgiliis Independent Board Member and Sustainability Committee Chair Prysmian has already set a target of having 50% of its revenue come from low-carbon enabling products in 2022, as well as to cut its green house gases by 2%-3%.
