We proudly present this year’s third issue of NExsT magazine, Prysmian’s publication on the worlds of broadband and telecom.

In this edition, we’ll be taking a closer look at some exciting trends that are shaping the markets for structured cabling, fibre, and networks. Topics include the expanding role of AltNets in the UK, funding programmes in the USA, the changing role of broadband for work, and how networks can contribute to enhanced sustainability.

In our technology section, we discuss the new ITU 50Gb/s standard and the possible role of fibre optics in quantum computing. There’s also news of Prysmian Group’s EcoCable and Sirocco cables which offer the smallest diameter and highest fibre count.
