Prysmian Group has signed a
technical
with JSC “Rosseti”, Russia’s largest
power grid company, to develop
power transmission and distribution
technology in Russia. The
agreement, signed by the CEOs of
the two companies, Valerio Battista
andOleg Budargin, determines
development prospects regarding
the exchange of information in order
to analyse and develop solutions for
power transmission systems with
voltages of up to 500kV.
One of the goals of the cooperation
is to develop post-installation
support systems capable of ensuring
the continuity of grid operation
through prompt intervention and
prevention of failures.
The Group has recently been
involved in building high voltage
grids in St. Petersburg and in
upgrading the transmission grid
inMoscow. It has also supplied

by the Brazilian oil company
Petrobras. The award refers to
special Down Hole Technology
(DHT) systems for offshore oil and
gas extraction application to be
delivered in July 2014. Theywill
bemanufactured in the Group’s
facilities in Bridgewater, NJ and
Cariacica, Brazil, usingmaterials
of Brazilian sourcing, namely steel.
DHT systems are technology-
driven speciality products for oil,
cables of up to 330kV for the 30most
important Russian power transmission
projects of recent years.
As part of a $55million investment
programme in the Russianmarket to
start local production of medium and
high voltage cables, Prysmian recently
inaugurated a new factory in Rybinsk
in the Yaroslavl region, completing
another step in its expansion plans in
Russia. The Rybinsk plant, which also
gas and geothermal wells that
include tubing encapsulated cables
used in individual wells tomonitor
temperature, pressure, and other
parameters to better control flow
though overall reservoirs. Recently
the Group has received the annual
Petrobras award for Best Supplier of
Goods and Services in the Campos
Basin. The award aims to recognise
those companies that deliver the
highest quality in the supply of
goods and services to Petrobras
units in the region.

Group attended the Angola
International Oil &Gas Conference
and Exhibition, in Luanda. This two-
day event showcased the interesting
opportunities available in the region
and offered Prysmian a platform
to present its Oil &Gas product
portfolio to key Angolan decision
makers.

cover the full range of applications
in the energy cables business with
35kVmedium voltage cables and
330kV extra high voltage cables with
cross-sections of up to 2,500mm2
and insulatedwith cross-linked
polyethylene (XLPE).
Themove is part of

expand in the country, which
is considered a high-growth
strategicmarket.
