Celebrating excellence and sharing the achievements to date.

The Merlino plant in Italy held an open day on 13th September to celebrate the 10th anniversary of its merger with the San Giuliano facility. Families and children were able to see and touch the plant’s working environment and offices, a centre of excellence for the production of cables “Made in Italy”.

Those attending the event had the chance to enter the factory and experience a journey of discovery of the production process. This involved a tour led by in-house specialists, starting from the birth of cables through to their packaging. Outside was a gazebo offering refreshments, while a number of events and games were specially organised for children.

Luca Varriale, Plant Manager, said: “This event has been a long time in the planning, with the intention of creating an even stronger bond between our staff and of thanking them for the work they do, day after day, that gives such value and excellence to our cables.”

“We wanted to share our work with our families – added Andrea Previtali, HR Plant. “Our kids had the opportunity to see what their parents do when they say ‘I’m going to work!’. This is what we do and we’re proud of it.”

The event was also attended by local dignitaries from the town of Merlino, who joined the community for this important Prysmian Group occasion.
