CPR compliant network cable
Since July 2017, manufacturers and distributors supplying cable products into Europe fall under Construction Products Regulation (CPR) requirements for ‘reaction to fire requirements’. Cable manufacturers and suppliers are obliged to subject products to independent third-party Notified Body testing and apply CE marking to products covered by harmonised European standard EN 50575. National regulations stipulate slightly different CPR performance levels for different building environments, so broad compliance is a plus.
The Draka Cat.6 U/UTP Cca D64 is compliant with strict fire protection guidelines. This new fire protection cable fully meets all criteria of fire protection class Cca s1a d1 a1 with regard to smoke emission (s1a), drop formation (d1) and acid content (a1). The new cable is compact, with a diameter of just 5.9mm, and is highly flexible for easy installation.
IP MediaLine Fiber for Live TV Production
Draka IP MediaLine Fiber cables were introduced at this year's IBC. These cables comply with the SMPTE 2110 standard, which describes the transmission of digital video signals (video stream) over an IP network in real time. Unlike previous IP video standards, transmission takes place in uncompressed format. Data sets (video, audio and additional data) are synchronized without affecting each other, so they can be routed and edited separately.
High bandwidth and robust material mean the new fibre optic cables meet the demands of film and television production. The new range comprises a central loose tube cable with two to 24 fibres. Non-metallic, gel-filled cable with FireRes sheathing is ideal for indoor installation. CPR Cca cables with high flame-retardant performance feature dielectric glass yarn armouring for rodent resistance and are highly waterproof.
E-Series compact central tube cables with improved tensile strength
A comprehensive portfolio of compact E-Series central tube cables with increased tensile strength is now available. Smaller tube diameters mean cable diameters for 24-fibre central tubes are also reduced. More compact designs will lead to cost saving for network channels.
Pulling strength of metallic armoured central tube designs in the E-Series has been increased from 1,000 N to 3,000 N, and from 1,500 N to 3,000 N for non-metallic cable types. Thanks to the higher tensile strength, users benefit from an extended lifetime of the cabled fibres.
Draka central tube cables now meet TIA GR20 & ICEA 640 & ICEA 696 standards as well as European EN 50173-1 and international ISO 11801-1 and IEC 60794-1 standards. Improved robustness and compactness at the same cost delivers significant investment benefits to end-users.
