DISTRIBUTION NODES

OVERVIEW

DISTRIBUTION NODES

Prysmian Group offers a wide range of Distribution Nodes solutions. These products are the last derivation point of an FTTH network and are used to connect end users to the external part of the network.
Our Distribution Nodes can be installed on poles, inside manholes or fixed on external walls. Various options are available for the FMS (Fiber Management System) such as splicing only or splicing and patching, with standard connectors or with ruggedised connectors accessible without opening the box.

Distribution Nodes for Splicing or/and Patching

The FMS is accessible from inside the box only.

PBO

AERIAL DISTRIBUTION NODE FOR UP TO 6 DROP CABLES

Aerial Distribution Node : PBO is an aerial box for splicing or splicing/patching used as the last derivation point to connect end users. It allows the connection between a main distribution cable and up to 6 customer drop cables. The customer drop cable can be spliced using the splice trays or pre-terminated with an SC/APC connector and connected to a patch panel inside the box, pre-equipped with SC/APC pigtails.

FOAB-24

AERIAL DISTRIBUTION NODE FOR UP TO 24 DROP CABLES

Aerial Distribution Node for up to 24 drop cables : FOAB-24 is a 24f fibre optic access box. It is an internal/external termination box designed for providing FTTH services in residential areas. This unit houses up to 3 splice trays allowing fibers from external cables to be spliced to pigtails, splitters or directly to drop or branch cables. The unit can accommodate up to 3 splitters and has a dedicated patch panel for up to 24 SC adapters. FOAB-24 has one oval port, two round ports for standard cables and up to 24 exit ports for customer drop cables.

PTE

AERIAL DISTRIBUTION NODE FOR UP TO 48 DROP CABLES

Aerial Distribution Node for up to 48 drop cables : PTE 12, 24 and 48 is used to access the FTTH network terminal. It is an ideal supporting equipment for connecting optical nodes and terminal components within optical fiber transmission networks. It has the function of flexible scheduling of optical fiber storage, fiber distribution and wiring. It can be installed outdoor, mounted on a pole or on a wall. It is suitable for fibre cables with up to 72 cores that can be equipped with up to 48 SC adapters, and up to 3 main or branch cables. It allows to connect up to 48 drop cables.

TBE

IP68 DISTRIBUTION NODE FOR UP TO 4 DROP CABLES

TBE-I2 and I4 are two IP68 rated products suitable for installation inside manholes and used to splice the drop cables coming from customers’ premises to the main distribution cable within an FTTH network.

Distribution Nodes with Ruggedised Connectors

The drop cable coming from the end customer can be connected without opening the box.

Casalink Block Terminal (CBT)

The Casalink Block Terminal (CBT) is a pre-connectorised closure designed for outdoor use and rated IP68. This closure comes in three sizes, for 4, 8 and 12 drop cables. It is supplied with a cable of various lengths pre-installed into the box and terminated with SC/APC adapters. Alternatively, the CBT is available with pre-installed splitters, including also unbalanced splitters that allow to connect multiple boxes to one another. Drop cables can be easily connected using the dedicated ports. The CTB is pre-sealed so that the internal functioning is preserved. The closure is supplied with a separated mounting bracket to ease the installation when working at height.

Flexibox

Flexibox for splicing only is a wall box equipped with external connectors, designed for outdoor use with up to 8 splice trays, 2 cable entries and up to 24 outdoor rated SC connectors.  Each splice tray can accommodate up to 24 fibre splices and the box provides for a cable loop storage area. Flexibox is available with a removable cover for increasing access during fibre splicing and routing activities. Flexibox utilises the same internal components and external connectors as Prysmian external closures to simplify installation operations and save time.

CTO-16

AERIAL DISTRIBUTION NODE FOR UP TO 16 RUGGEDISED DROP CABLES

Aerial Distribution Node for up to 16 ruggedised drop cables : CTO-16, a 16-port fibre optic access box, is an internal/external termination box designed for providing FTTH services in residential areas. This unit houses up to 3 splice trays allowing fibers from external cables (2x5 mm flat cables or 5 mm round cables) to be spliced to pigtails, splitters or directly to drop or branch cables. The unit can accommodate up to 3 splitters and has a dedicated patch panel for up to 16 SC adapters. CTO-16 has one oval port, two round ports for standard cables and up to 16 exit ports for pre-terminated customer drop cables with protection shroud.

Compact CBT

The Compact Casalink Block Terminal (CBT) is a pre-connectorised ultra small closure designed for outdoor use and rated IP68. This product comes in several versions, for 4 to 12 drop cables, in either in-line or  single end configuration. It is supplied with a cable of various lengths pre-installed into the box  and terminated with SC or LC adapters. Alternatively, the compact CBT can be supplied with a 1:4 or 1:8 splitter installed. Drop cables can be connected to existing CBTs or other drop cables in the network using Prysmian connectors.
