PRYSMIAN HONORED AT AMCHAM’S TRANSATLANTIC AWARD GALA DINNER FOR ITS INVESTMENT IN ENCORE WIRE
Prysmian has received the prestigious Transatlantic Award 2025 for its €245 million investment aimed at expanding the production capacity of the Encore Wire site in Texas. The award was presented during the Gala Dinner organized by the American Chamber of Commerce in Italy (AmCham Italy).
Francesco Gori, Chairman of Prysmian, stated: “Receiving this award from the American Chamber of Commerce is truly an honour: it is the second recognition we have been granted within a few years. Our leadership is largely due to the United States, where in recent years Prysmian has completed three strategic acquisitions: General Cable, Encore Wire and, more recently, Channell.”
Gori added: “All of this has been made possible thanks to a constantly growing market that embraces innovation and enables us to look to the future with optimism. We will continue to invest in the United States, which for Prysmian represents nearly half of our revenues, one- third of our approximately 33,000 employees worldwide, and one-third of our shareholders. We therefore look to America with great confidence.”
The acquisition of Encore Wire, completed in July 2024 for €3.9 billion, confirms Prysmian’s strategy of strengthening its presence in the U.S. market. The operation marks a decisive step in the modernization of U.S. energy infrastructure, supporting the growing demand from data centers and other drivers of electrification, such as the reshoring of industry.
