Prysmian Group’s HQ hosts the WeChangeIT Forum

categories: Corporate

On 15 May 2019, the fourth edition of Data Manager magazine’s yearly event will take place at Prysmian Group’s HQ.

Milan, Italy   -   15/05/2019 - 02:00 AM

  • The headline of this year’s Forum is “IT and Business”, the constant debate about their role’s vital importance.

  • Are we witnessing a change in direction?

  • Over the past few years, some people have pronounced the CIO dead. But our answer is “Long live the CIO”, and that’s not all.

  • It is an opportunity to dialogue with a view to understanding the value of two different worlds, whose borders are increasingly blurred and which must converge and influence one another.

  • Technology pervades businesses at every level of their processes. It is a prerequisite for businesses, and vice versa.

  • Digital transformation? Yes! But this cannot happen without transforming job roles.

The Speakers will share their first-hand experience with a large audience of selected individuals. Together with them, we will have the opportunity to discuss the goal of convergence between these two worlds, as well as the need to help create a now increasingly essential, mutual influence between the two.

Under the patronage of AICA, AIDP and ANDAF, Data Manager would like to give a boost to this message. These are three associations that are particularly sensitive and proactive towards these issues. The IT Departments (obviously), HR Departments and the Administrative and Finance Departments of businesses are all directly involved in these processes of transformation.

The WeChangeIT Forum is addressed to the C-Level executives of the organisations operating within the main sectors of the Italian economy, including the Public Administration sector.

Panel 1: The focus will be on data, infrastructure, technology and services

IT is a powerful differentiating factor between competing businesses. Technology is the catalyst of business transformation. No industry is immune from the effects of digital transformation: its impact is visible everywhere, from supply chain to customer experience. Today, every company needs smart data management, top-end security, connectivity, scalability and visibility on systems. Innovating means removing all those factors that stand in the way of efficiency, flexibility and productivity. Data culture is now part of Marketing, Finance, HR, R&D and Operations Departments. Meanwhile, IT culture is now leaving the IT Departments, as they have become more and more transformative.

Panel 2: the focus will be on new roles, functions, environments, skills and organisation

The role of the CIO at the crossroads between next-generation IT and data science will become increasingly more strategic.
The convergence between IT and OT dictates new architectures and delivery models. IT becomes a service provider, a business partner and a digital leader. CIOs will turn from experts in IT products and services to innovation and new talent development managers. They will not just be managing part of the business: they will be ready to take over a leading role within companies. In the coming years, the main challenge for businesses will be their ability to adapt the processes, the operational models and the management of resources, whilst keeping control of the organisation to prevent the risk of their competitive potential levelling off.
