As a leader in the cable system industry, the Group recognises the necessity to spread the evidence that most of the new obligations under the CPR fall on manufacturers; however, importers and distributors will also play an important role as they are required to take appropriate measures to ensure that they market only CPR-compliant products.

Prysmian has always been leading the way to fire safety, first of all in terms of responsibility and concretely through its research, product design and development approach.

In line with Europacable, the voice of all leading European wire and cable producers, Prysmian Group is aware that CPR communication activities represent the most effective measure to fully clarify legal requirements to assure that safety standards are met.

Whatever your role in the cable supply chain, you have precise safety legal responsibilities in the event of fire. The following quick checklist can help you understand whether you are Construction Products Regulation (CPR) compliant or not.

FINAL CHECKLIST FOR CPR COMPLIANCE

  • Does the Classification comply with National Regulation? Are there any additional parameters prescribed?

  • Is the cable that I buy/distribute correctly CPR CE marked on the label and in line with local Regulation?

  • Is the DoP correctly drawn up and available?

  • Does the label (or any other accompanying document) specify the intended use of the cable in line with its destination?

Prysmian recognises that CPR is key to enhancing people’s safety and therefore is committed to spreading the key messages of the new EU Construction Products Regulation, ensuring a proper level of CPR understanding amongst its business partners.
