Prysmian reinforces its digital presence

Prysmian, world leader in the energy and telecom cables systems industry, announces that it has completed its ambitious project to create websites for Group Countries with the launch of 30 new websites.

The project, which started in May 2017 following the launch of the new corporate website www.prysmian.com, forms part of a broader strategy to reinforce Prysmian’s digital presence and promote the characteristics of local markets.

Over the past 6 months a task force of more than 100 people from Prysmian HQ, the Countries (Communication & Marketing, IT, HR, Business) and external agencies, has helped develop local content in 20 different languages, producing more than 15,000 web pages in total: 60 stories of people and landmark projects, 100 news and press releases and more than 160 posts on social media. The basis for this important project is a multilingual CMS platform developed at a central level with the contribution of Softec and Interbrand, which dealt with the Group’s brand strategy and digital guidelines.

All the Prysmian’s affiliates involved in the project have been guided on this digital transformation journey with dedicated workshops and training sessions.

“Thanks to this project, Prysmian has introduced a next-generation Web platform to drive its business forward in digital evolution.”

stated Antonella Di Michele, Prysmian IT Project Manager.

“Working alongside several country teams, we could gather valuable suggestions to enhance both the Visitor and Editor experiences. We have reduced navigation clicks and developed a Product Finder with a multi-site search tool, in addition to creating more than 80 interactive widgets to simplify the content preparation process.”

“We are very proud of this important accomplishment in our digital transformation journey. The Countries’ extraordinary commitment has enabled us to keep to the project roadmap, in line with our digital strategy already shared at the time our global website went live.”

Prysmian Global CIO

Prysmian’s new digital ecosystem, in line with the strategy the Group is following, is already reporting its first important results: in just 6 months Prysmian’s website ranks amongst the top 10 of Lundquist’s Italian Webranking by Comprend. The ranking, which is the most authoritative in the sector and rewards the transparency of the corporate content of 112 listed companies, place Prysmian above companies such as Luxottica (14th place), Brembo (20th), Enel (16th), Saipem (32nd), FCA (35th) and Pirelli & C (50th).

“Our digital commitment is bringing excellent results both in terms of global website traffic — which today registers 140,000 sessions a month —and in terms of our brand’s visibility on social channels: today, the Prysmian’s Company page on LinkedIn has about 63,300 followers, a figure that has risen steadily, reaching +82% compared to last year.”

This is an outstanding example of digital positioning for a manufacturer with important growth projections that has chosen to use the Internet as a strategic communication channel and the main channel for Employer Branding to attract talent at worldwide level.
