An event for a deep dive into environmental, climate and social matters, and innovation.

The Sustainability Week event, held from 27 to 29 June 2023 at Prysmian’s headquarters, saw the participation of over 200 external stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, partners, associations and investors, along with over 6,500 streaming participants, who took part in the event through our digital platforms. Our Sustainability Week was attended by the Group’s managers, Sustainability Ambassadors and over 200 employees from all the Company's Regions and Divisions who contributed actively to ensuring complete engagement by all stakeholders at the global and local level.

Annual stakeholder engagement meeting between Prysmian Group’s top managers and stakeholders.

On the occasion of its Sustainability Week 2023, Prysmian presented the progress made in its sustainability strategy and the new targets for the 2023-2025 three-year period. The event was an opportunity to highlight how the Group looks at sustainability as its business driver, pursuing a strategic vision based on the highest standards of environmental responsibility for production processes, strengthening its commitment to protecting the environment and managing relations with the local communities in which it operates, as well as in terms of people’s inclusion and growth.

At the event, Prysmian also announced the approval of its new SBTi targets: the Company has reinforced its commitment to combating climate change by setting new and more challenging goals. The Company has committed to cutting by 47% its Scope 1 and 2 emissions and by 28% its Scope 3 emissions by 2030, compared to the 2019 baseline, and to achieve a 90% reduction of Scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2035 and Scope 3 emissions by 2050. All near-term targets (revised upwards compared to 2021) and net-zero targets have been approved by the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi).

The initiative Call 4 Ideas

The Sustainability Call4Ideas Fair was held on the occasion of the Sustainability Week event. This is a tangible initiative of the Group, coordinated by the Sustainability and Research & Development teams and Prysmian’s Corporate Hangar venture builder, aimed at collecting innovative ideas from employees in all Prysmian's local Regions and Divisions and developing new sustainability-related services and products, with the aim of implementing them at local and, potentially, global level. The initiative saw the participation of over 1,000 employees who sent an idea, as well as over 200 colleagues from the Group’s various Regions and from all of Italy who presented their innovative ideas through the exhibition booths set up in the space adjacent to Prysmian headquarters.

“The Group’s commitment is no longer focused solely on its operations, but on the entire value chain. Our efforts aim to anticipate our clients’ needs, increasing engagement with suppliers and focusing on constant innovation, leveraging our technological and industrial leadership to amplify the positive impact that Prysmian may have on the communities.”
