Prysmian Group's commitment to overcome the coronavirus emergency

Since the beginning, the Group has always had the health of its employees at heart, putting in place risk prevention and protection measures. In these exceptional events, there are people we will never get tire of thanking: all healthcare workers who are doing overtime, often risking their health, to save lives: real heroes!

And in such a complex and delicate phase for our Country and for the health situation, Prysmian decided to contribute with a donation in favor of the ASST Fatebenefratelli Sacco Hospital in Milan with which it is in continuous contact thanks to the collaboration with the infectious disease expert Professor Massimo Galli and his team, who are working extraordinarily every day to deal with this situation.

Prysmian has donated to the Sacco Hospital in Milan to help build a new intensive care unit. This action testifies not only to Prysmian's attention in protecting his own people, but above all, the importance of "giving back" to our community to also support the social context in which we live. For this reason, Prysmian has decided to give concrete help also to the Metropolitan City of Milan and to the Mayor of Milan Beppe Sala through an additional donation to support the coronavirus emergency plan in our city.

Prysmian Group is also collaborating with Fondazione Fiera Milano and Regione Lombardia for the supply of cables necessary for the construction of the new hospital inside the Fiera area, in addition to the donation of cables to Fiera Milano City – Fondazione Fiera and to the city of Wuhan for the construction of new hospitals

In Arco Felice, employees decided to donate part of their salary to the local office of Civil Protection, to help people in need.
Not only in Italy, but worldwide, Prysmian is putting in place a series of extraordinary measures that can help not only our employees, but also the local communities across the globe.
Just to mention the main initiatives of which we are all proud:

  • Prysmian Spain donated 3000 masks distributed to three different hospitals.
  • Prysmian France donated 3000 EPI to Montereau-Fault-Yonne hospital
  • Prysmian Romania donated to the Slatina hospital to assist in the procurement of materials necessary for this emergency.
  • Prysmian Hungary is helping the communities where our factories are. In particular, several donations of masks, chemical disinfectant and gel fertilizer were made.
  • In China, when the spread of the virus began, it was made a donation of cables for the construction of hospitals.
  • In many other Regions numerous initiatives have been put in place, in particular in OSEA thanks to the Business Continuity Committee, a series of actions have been applied for the prevention and sanitation of the environments as for example done in the Melaka plant (Malaysia) and in Muscat (Oman).

Finally, the Group continues to closely monitor the evolution of the CoVid-19 spread in real time with the aim of preventing/minimizing impacts on our people and operations.
