PRYSMIAN BECOMES A FOUNDING MEMBER OF THE GLOBAL COMPACT NETWORK ITALIA

In 2021, Prysmian joined the United Nations Global Compact, a global network of more than 17,000 companies from 160 countries inaugurated in 1999 with the goal of promoting the development of a sustainable global economy. Starting from December 2024, Prysmian has officially acquired the status of Founding Member of the Global Compact Network Italia (UNGCN Italia). This recognition, granted by the Board of Directors of the Global Compact Network Italia Foundation, represents an important milestone for Prysmian, which has always been committed to promoting sustainable and responsible practices.

"Recognition as a Founding Member of the Global Compact Network Italia is a great source of pride for us. This status allows us to actively participate in the governance of the Italian network of the United Nations Global Compact, alongside 90 other organizations. We are excited to collaborate with other organizations for a more sustainable and inclusive future, significantly contributing to the promotion of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the 2030 Agenda."

The Global Compact requires participating businesses and organizations, each in their own sphere of influence, to agree, support and apply a set of fundamental principles covering human rights, working standards, environmental protection and anti-corruption. The UN Global Compact’s spirit is reflected in Prysmian’s culture, values and practices. Consistent with the Global Compact’s principles, Prysmian has adopted policies and tools that safeguard the environment, as well as human and workers’ rights, all the while supporting local communities and the most vulnerable.

Prysmian shares with the UN Global Compact and its stakeholders, on an annual basis, its progress in the following key areas: human rights, labor, environment and anti-corruption. The Company’s commitment is further evidence of its transparency, striving to achieve its sustainability objectives and reporting on them publicly , in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
