Electrifying Milano: Prysmian celebrates Christmas 2024 by lighting up its hometown and helping those in need 

This Christmas Prysmian pays tribute to Milan, its home, with a message that all Milanese can relate to: Milan l’è un gran Milan, meaning Milan is a great Milan. This phrase, inspired by a famous Milanese song, gives its name to the innovative campaign dedicated to the city.

What does Prysmian’s Christmas campaign involve? 

The goal of this project is to give a voice and light to the entire city through a conceptual installation consisting of three works: 

• Electrifying Milano features a minimalist chic Christmas tree, located in the iconic Piazza San Fedele, lit on December 6th during an event open to the public. 
• Lighting the Road to Bicocca consists of lights running 4 km along Viale Fulvio Testi, culminating in the illumination of Prysmian’s headquarters tower in Bicocca, symbolically connecting the neighborhood with the city center. 
• “Let the world say it, but Milan is a great Milan” is the title of a video inspired by the famous Milanese saying Milano l'è semper un gran Milan, from the 1939 song by Giovanni D’Anzi and Alfredo Bracchi. 

Prysmian’s roots and its bond with the city of Milan 

Massimo Battaini, CEO of Prysmian, stated: “Milan is our home, which is why we are particularly in tune with this city. We are both ambitious, international, and have a rigorous mindset. This Christmas, we wanted to celebrate our bond with Milan by connecting the beating heart of the city center with our historic Bicocca headquarters. In this neighborhood lies Prysmian’s headquarters and our global research and development center, from which we drive innovation for the energy transition and digital transformation worldwide. We hope Milanese citizens feel proud of our history, as it is also their history. Undoubtedly, we are proud to be Milanese.”

Through this project, Prysmian also celebrates the pivotal role of Milan’s suburbs, which have become international hubs and symbols of productivity. This is why, during the current holiday season, Prysmian has created a symbolic connection between the city’s heart and its surrounding districts.

Prysmian’s donations for Christmas 2024 

In addition to the city installations, during the Christmas season, Prysmian will make significant donations to support those less fortunate, aiding families in need, improving quality of life, and bringing light to the homes of those living in challenging circumstances. 

The donations will be directed to two specific organizations: 

• Banco dell’Energia, a foundation focused on addressing energy poverty, supporting individuals and families facing economic and social difficulties. 
• La Casa di Elena, an educational parent-child community that assists mothers and children in need, with placements determined by the Juvenile Court for child protection. 

This initiative reflects Prysmian’s core values, which have always been centered on fostering innovation and sustainability – not just through its products and services but also through initiatives aimed at improving people’s lives and communities. With this gesture, Prysmian actively dedicates itself to building a better and fairer future for all, contributing through acts of solidarity and social responsibility.
